What is coaching?
Confidential, safe space for you to press ‘pause’, explore your thinking and clarify your goals.
Coaching takes place on a 121 basis so this is your space and time to become clearer on the goals you wish to achieve, identify anything that is holding you back, investigate possible avenues and explore the practicalities of ‘how to’ move forward.
The role of your coach is to guide you through that exploration, providing you with a high level of support and (if you would like it) an appropriate degree of challenge.
After all – coaching is not about having a cosy chat!
We recommend that you have a ‘chemistry’ meeting with your coach before you begin working together. This is an informal opportunity for you to meet each other and to begin to build a trust-based relationship.
You can also use this time to discuss your expectations of each other and practical questions such as how the sessions will run, how long they will last and the best place for them to be held. Some people prefer ‘in person’ coaching whilst others prefer telephone or video coaching (we offer walking coaching too!).
Effective coaching takes place in a location where you feel safe and comfortable, where you won’t be disturbed and where you are free from anything that might limit your thinking. For this reason some people choose not to hold their coaching sessions within their workplace.
As a guide; most people start with a series of 3, 4 or 6 x 90-minute coaching sessions
